God's Creatures

Today, I did my last interview with a station in NYC about my new book, I Wanted to See the Moon. The book is about my mother, Ruby Jack, and her last stages of Parkinson's. It is in the form of a devotional with Scriptures and prayers and vignettes to encourage anyone facing chronic illness or the challenge of caring for an elderly parent.

Here is the thing God did today: All of my interviews seem to be on secular radion stations not wanting to address the spiritual aspect of the book. I mean how does one get through twenty-plus years of a chronic disease where the body shuts down but the mind stays sharp? For my mother it was with faith in God, even when it didn't seem popular or to others logical. Today, however, my last interview suddenly opened up and I got to talk about her faith and God's love for 30 minutes. During the entire time a turtle dove sat in front of me watching me silently for 30 minutes--not moving. When the interview was done, the dove flew away. Has anyone else had a "God-Thing" happen? I felt this last interview was God's way of saying, "O.K. you get 30 minutes of uninterrupted time, without commercials, to share my glory, and by the way, my dove will help you feel peaceful and not so nervous." It was amazing!
